The aging process results in our skin losing collagen, elasticity, and structure. In addition to gravity, this causes our skin to sag, hollow, and wrinkle. Fillers can be used to enhance volume, reduce wrinkles, and add structure to the skin. At Maki Wellness Center & Medspa, we use dermal fillers that are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring gel substance in our skin that is essential for hydration and volume.
Dermal fillers may be used to eliminate wrinkles, plump and hydrate lips, restore lost soft tissue volume, raise scar depressions, and fill creases and folds. Fine lines and wrinkles may appear due to sun damage and muscle movement as we age. Dermal facial fillers may be used to alleviate these problems. At Maki Wellness Center & Medspa, our goal is to create a natural and youthful balance through subtle changes.e
The Dermal Fillers used at Maki include
JUVÉDERM® Line of Fillers
The JUVÉDERM® line of fillers include JUVÉDERM XC, JUVÉDERM Ultra XC and JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC. Most commonly, these fillers are used to plump lips and earlobes and reduce the parentheses lines from the corner of the lips to the nose.
Restylane® Line of Fillers
Several Restylane® dermal filler products are approved by the FDA, including Restylane-L®, Restylane Refyne, Restylane Defyne, Restylane Lyft, and Restylane Silk. Various types of non-surgical treatments are available to address nose, mouth, and midface aging.
Revanesse® Versa is a versatile dermal filler suitable for treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds (laugh lines).
A filler erases wrinkles, plumps, hydrates lips, raises scar depressions, replaces soft-tissue volume loss, and volumizes creases and folds. Age-related skin damage can be accelerated by the sun and muscle movement, which increases wrinkles and fine lines. With dermal facial fillers, we can correct such damage through filler injections.
Generally, you will see results immediately. After a filler injection, you may have some swelling for about 3-7 days. The amount of swelling will be determined by the area treated, how much filler was injected, and how well you respond to the dermal filler. It usually takes about 2-3 weeks for the product to settle, and you’ll see your final results. Allow yourself two weeks before traveling or going to major events in case of residual bruising and swelling.
The outcome and length of treatment will depend on the type of treatment and the individual. As the product is being injected into the body, some people may metabolize it faster than others.
For results to last, facial fillers need to be repeated. The number of filler injections needed will vary from patient to patient since no two people are alike. Your injection will discuss the details with you during your initial consultation.
Most patients tend to recover within a day or two. After treatment, most patients can return to their regular routine immediately. Be aware that bruises are possible, so try to plan your events and vacations two weeks in advance.
